Below are some photos of what the
master bedroom looked like before the remodel.
The ceiling is slightly darker than the walls, and there is no crown molding or trim.
Tori painted the ceiling white, and the walls green, and after I put up the wainscoting she added some ivy border paper. I closed off the opening going into the bathroom, and took out the wall between the closet on the left and the closet in the main hallway. I then sheet rocked over the opening in the main hallway. The two closets in the small hallway between the bedroom and bath were also taken out to make one small room. I framed in the opening in the bedroom and installed a new pocket door. This new room is now a walk in closet. It's totally lined with cedar panels, and boy does it smell nice!
At one end of the closet I put in some pine shelves and drawers, all lined with cedar. There's also a little nook for hanging hats, and Tori's purses.
The portion of the wall that is sticking out, the part with the mirror on it, is actually the back side of the closet that I am installing in the bathroom. There was no storage in the bathroom, but there will be soon. By combining the small hallway between the bedroom and bathroom, and combining the three small closets into one walk in closet there is a lot more useable storage space. I also installed a small window, which you can just see in the photo on the right.
Here's a photo of the crown molding I made for the room. The new carpet is on order and should be here soon, we are looking forward to getting that done.
